Installation and disassembly of outer spherical bearings and prolonged life

Spherical bearings are actually a variant of deep groove ball bearings. The characteristic is that the outer diameter surface of the outer ring is spherical, which can be fitted into the corresponding concave spherical surface of the bearing seat to act as a centering function. When encountering the need to disassemble or install the outer spherical bearing, many users do not know how to do it. The following is an introduction to the installation and disassembly methods.


One, the installation of the outer spherical bearing

1. Before installing the bearing on the shaft, you must first unplug the fixing pin of the bearing housing, and at the same time, polish the surface of the journal smoothly, and apply oil to the journal to prevent rust and lubricate (allow the bearing to rotate slightly on the shaft).

2. Apply lubricating oil on the mating surface of the bearing seat and the bearing, and put the bearing into the bearing seat. Then put the assembled bearing on the shaft together with the bearing seat. Push to the desired location for installation.

3. Do not tighten the bolts that fix the bearing seat first, and allow the bearing housing to rotate in the bearing seat. Also install the bearing and seat on the other end of the same shaft, rotate the shaft a few times, and let the bearing itself automatically find its position. Then tighten the bearing seat bolts.

4. Install eccentric sleeve. Put the eccentric sleeve on the eccentric step of the inner sleeve of the bearing first, and tighten it by hand in the direction of rotation of the shaft. Then insert the small iron rod into or against the counterbore on the eccentric sleeve. Hit the small iron rod in the direction of rotation of the shaft with a hand hammer. Install the eccentric sleeve firmly, and finally tighten the hexagon socket screws on the eccentric sleeve.

2. Disassembly of the outer spherical bearing

1. Loosen the locking screw on the eccentric sleeve of the bearing with an Allen wrench, then insert a small iron rod into the counterbore on the eccentric sleeve of the top cover, and loosen the eccentric sleeve against the rotation direction of the shaft.

2. Loosen the bolts that fix the bearing seat. Remove the bearing together with the bearing housing from the shaft. Note that before removing the bearing seat at one end of the shaft. The bearing seat bolt at the other end of the shaft should be loosened to avoid damage to the bearings at both ends.

Before installing or disassembling the bearing, some basic operating knowledge should be mastered to avoid the loss caused by blind operation.

In the bearing work, heating is a common problem, and there are many factors that cause the high temperature of the outer spherical bearing. Relatively speaking, there are mainly the following five kinds of common heating. After understanding the different factors that cause the outer spherical bearing to heat up, you need to prescribe the right medicine. To completely eliminate the danger of high temperature of the outer spherical bearing, the corresponding solution is also inevitable.
Three, the life of the outer spherical bearing is prolonged
1. The response to the bearing life of the outer spherical bearing

Because the bones and raceways are absolutely invaded by moving and purified dust, the bones and raceways are worn out. When the amount of wear is large, the bearing, noise, and vibration increase, which increases the operating precision of the bearing, which indirectly reflects the precision of some long-term machines. Therefore, for the outer spherical bearings used in some silent machines, daily maintenance is mainly to prevent the intrusion of purification materials and dust.

2. Response to vibration and noise

The cleanliness of the outer spherical bearing has an equal response to the life of the needle roller bearing. The bearing has stopped special experiments for this, and the result is that the difference is several times or even dozens of times. The higher the cleanliness of the bearing, the longer the lifespan, and other people’s experiments indicate that there is no smooth oil with the same cleanliness for the life of the ball bearing. Because improving the cleanliness of the lubricating oil can extend the life of the bearing, so if the lubricating oil contains dirt particles below 10um, the life of the outer spherical bearing is also doubled.

3. Response to the smooth function The drop in the cleanliness of the outer spherical bearing does not only reflect the composition of the smooth oil film, but also causes the deterioration of the smooth grease and decelerates its aging, thereby reflecting the drop in the smooth function of the smooth grease.

The experimental results of the core of the outer spherical bearing experiment indicate that the cleanliness greatly reflects the degree of vibration of the bearing, especially the vibration of the high frequency spectrum is more obvious. The vibration progress value of the outer spherical bearing with high cleanliness is low, especially in the high frequency spectrum. Experiments have been done on the reaction of the dust in the grease of the outer spherical bearing to the noise, and it is confirmed that the more dust, the greater the noise.
